Umineko no Naku Koro ni takes the gamer to a beautiful private island, where a group of 18 close and not so close relatives comes to get the inheritance of a dying old man. They all find themselves in a huge mansion. At first, the family meeting goes according to plan and there are no signs of trouble. But that same night a message arrives that a strong hurricane is approaching the island. At this time, no transport is capable of evacuating them. The heroes will have to spend 2 days in isolation after which help will come for them. It seemed that the conference could continue, but one of the characters was killed. The main character is obliged to start an investigation, as he believes that it is far from the last.

The main character of Umineko no Naku Koro ni is a guy named Battler. He is driven by a sense of justice. To solve crimes, the protagonist must interact with more than ten characters, each of whom has their own dark past, as well as unique personalities and flaws.
