Valkyria Chronicles 4 follows Commander Claude Wallace and his childhood companions as they embark on a bloody and lengthy war between the godlike forces of the Valkyries and Imperial soldiers. The event takes place in the same world as in the original series, but the story is completely changed. The plot focuses on the story of the E-Federation squad, which includes the main character and his partners.

The player takes control of young commander Claude Colles, Riley Miller and Darsenal Raz. The team also includes other characters, each of whom has unique abilities and plays their own role not only in battle, but also in the difficult journey. Heroes are able to unite their own forces, repair combat vehicles, heal allies, and together repel the enemy. The BLiTZ combat system combines elements of a real-time third-person shooter and turn-based strategy, where the gamer controls several characters at the same time. The fourth part includes many innovations, most of them improve the combat. The gamer can take advantage of multiple support options with offensive and defensive battleships. In battles against the Imperial threat, you can now use a larger number of units on vast maps.
