Wargame: Airland Battle, despite the name, does not belong to classic wargames. This is a tactical real-time strategy with deep mechanics, but a low barrier to entry. It is also a continuation of the game European Escalation. The developers added military aviation to the new part. In addition to it, infantry, ground vehicles and navy are used in battles. There are a total of 750 units in the game.

Among the innovations, we can note changes in multiplayer. Now up to 20 people can participate in matches. For fans of battles with live opponents, new network modes are available. Even in Wargame: Airland Battle, the creators reworked the campaign, making it dynamic. Its plot is dedicated to the confrontation between NATO countries and the Warsaw Warfare in Scandinavia. The action takes place in an alternate 1985 during World War III. The number of countries you can play for has reached 12 with the addition of Canada, Sweden, Denmark and Norway.

In the title you cannot rebuild bases and create fighters. Infantrymen need ammunition, and vehicles also need fuel. The gameplay is divided into 2 phases. Trust and morale points are used instead of resources. The first ones are spent on using special skills and calling for reinforcements. And the latter are needed to force the enemy to surrender. The gameplay on the global map takes place step by step. There you need to move your troops, carry out strategic strikes on enemy zones, and participate in random events where you often need to make choices. When a skirmish with an enemy army occurs, an RTS-style combat mode is activated. In it you need to score more points than your opponent before the timer expires. In the campaign it is possible to play not only with bots, but also with friends online.
