Warhammer: Vermintide 2 as the name implies, it uses the setting of the Warhammer fantasy universe. The genre in the sequel has not changed. This is a cooperative action game with a view from the eyes, where users work together to confront crowds of mobs, fight bosses, complete tasks, upgrade their warriors and find cooler things for them. In the original, gamers fought with humanoid rats – the skaven. In the sequel, servants of Chaos were added to them, or rather members of the cult of Nurgle. The number of types of enemies has increased to 20. 50 types of melee and ranged weapons are available to destroy them. Weapons can be disassembled and improved.

In Warhammer: Vermintide 2, a squad always consists of 4 people. You can play with live teammates or bots. Quests are divided into ordinary and heroic. The latter cannot be played with casual gamers. You need to master them alone or with friends. For completing missions and gaining levels you are given chests. They drop random equipment. It can be standard, unusual, rare, legendary. Fighters can also carry consumable items with them: potions, bombs, etc. In total, the second part has 5 playable characters with unique passive and active abilities. For each of them there are 3 development classes. Thus, there are 15 professions in the title (and the same number of talent trees).

The game features the following heroes:

• Dwarf Bardin – can become a huntsman with a crossbow, an ironbreaker with a shield and an avenger (a berserker who holds a blade in each hand);
• Mage – she can be made into a fighting girl-mage, a rescued one, and a pyromancer;
• Soldier Kruber – he makes a mercenary, hunter and knight (damage dealer, damage dealer and tank, respectively);
• Inquisitor – he has access to 2 specializations of hunters (headhunters and witches) and the role of a fanatic;
• Elf Kerrilan is a girl who can be a ranger, a servant or a shadow.
