What The Maze begins right off the bat – the nameless protagonist stands on the threshold of a giant labyrinth. A mysterious voice from out of nowhere instructs him, explaining the essence of what is happening. And it is simple – the hero has to enter the labyrinth and go through it. At the same time, it is desirable to survive without falling into the clutches of local monsters. However, aggressive monsters will not be the only problem for the protagonist, because, like any other person, he needs food and water on a long journey.

Before the start of the passage, the hero of What The Maze is given a modest starting supply of resources: several glow sticks, some food and water. All this stuff will be stored in a small inventory. In addition, the character is holding a flashlight, which also requires power to work, namely, huge batteries that occupy an entire slot in the inventory. After collecting supplies, the player is free to go through the opened gate and begin to look for a way out.

There he will have to look for a way out, marking the places he has passed with glowing sticks. There definitely won’t be enough initial resources for the entire journey, and therefore you should also look for nooks and crannies where provisions and batteries are lying around. However, graves are sometimes located in exactly the same corners. The character's predecessors in escaping the labyrinth emerge from them, rising from the dead. And by the way, you can escape together with friends in cooperative or competitive mode, supporting up to 4 players in the lobby.
