Worms WMD – battles between 2 teams of worms. At the beginning of the battle, the opponents are placed in different parts of the map. On the screen you can see the names of the units and how much health each has left. Below is a timer – the time for the participant’s move, and how much is left until the end of the match. When striking, you need to monitor the strength and direction scales. By pressing Shift, the weapon tab opens.

In Worms WMD, buildings now serve more than just a decorative role. Members of both teams can infiltrate them, hide and take a defensive position. If the worm is in cover, the enemy will not see it until reconnaissance goes inside. In the buildings you can find useful items, weapons, first aid kits.

A stationary weapon appeared. It is located on the map itself, and not in the inventory. It can be used by both units. A classic machine gun and a sniper rifle are available, capable of hitting the enemy at a long distance. The mortar fires fragmentation grenades. The flamethrower deals fire damage, but in some cases it is dangerous to use: you need to watch the direction of the wind, otherwise you risk setting yourself and your teammates on fire.

You can destroy the enemy team with equipment. It is possible to move and even jump on tanks; a helicopter is needed for an air attack. The robot cannot shoot at opponents, but its jumps cause an explosion. Blue magnets are needed for attack, and red ones are for defense. An innovation is the crafting system. There are boxes on the map with spare parts for creating weapons.
