Action XCOM 2 takes place 20 years after the last events in Enemy Unknown. The army of earthlings was destroyed by alien invaders, and the organization fighting against opponents was forgotten even by its creators. The planet has been colonized by a new civilization, and the remaining survivors are under complete control. Now the government is controlled by extraterrestrial beings, and people do not know what to expect in the future.

Factors such as disease, poverty and crime rates were heralded for eradication. Most of humanity lives in large cities, where total control and surveillance are established. There were also people on the periphery who were relatively free in their own actions and choices. In a region where survivors can make their own decisions, the XCOM group was once again founded. Having revived the organization, you will have to fight the alien army again and try to destroy them on the planet.

The gameplay is presented in the form of a turn-based tactical strategy, as in previous parts of the series. The project has many innovations, and most importantly, procedurally generated game areas. The mobile base where the passage begins constantly requires more resources. The user will have to mine materials or take them from opponents. The squad constantly participates in battles. During battle, the user needs to interact with the environment and control many units, combine their actions, defend or attack.
