LA Noire is a game about a detective named Cole Phelps, who was a former Marine and now fights crime in Los Angeles in 1947. According to the plot, the city is mired in crime and corruption: armed mafia gangs are operating everywhere, brutal murders are being committed, and drug trafficking is flourishing. This is what the main character, controlled by the user, will understand. The player can conduct investigations, conduct interrogations, look for evidence – in a word, become a full-fledged detective.

The game has a unique system of gestures and facial expressions, thanks to which the user will be able to understand by reaction to a question asked whether they are telling the truth or trying to deceive him. This certainly makes the game more believable. As you progress through Los Angeles Noir, you will have to move around the map a lot and often; this can be done both on foot and in vehicles.

The gameplay is presented with a wide range of options:

• Search for evidence – exploring the scene of the crime and traveling around the city in search of the necessary evidence.
• Interrogations – you can use the material evidence found to put pressure and find out more details.
• Interviewing witnesses – you can obtain information from those who were nearby during the crime.
• Pursuing and neutralizing criminals – having compiled a complete picture of the crime, you can begin to catch the perpetrators.

The opponent in this game can be anyone – a person with an openly criminal appearance, or an inconspicuous and quiet character, or even his own colleague working for the police. In addition, sometimes it will be possible to follow the wrong trail, since in addition to criminal activity, a person may have other, unrelated secrets. By asking a tricky question, you can get an ambiguous reaction – it will only depend on the player how to interpret it.
