Prototype 2 – a direct continuation of the previous part of the series, in which Alex Mercer was the main character. Here, the main character will be James Heller. He is on a mission when his wife informs him about the reappearance of a dangerous virus in New York that can turn living beings into dangerous creatures. Upon returning from the mission, Heller discovers that his family has died from the virus, and wants to get even with Mercer, considering him guilty. But after the skirmish, the hero becomes infected and acquires superhuman abilities, gaining all the skills that the protagonist of the previous part possessed.

The events of the “Prototype 2” project take place in New York, which in this case is divided into 3 zones.
